Steel Detailing is the production of Shop drawings & Erection drawings for your steel structure or PEB Project. Our Detailers interpret architectural and structural engineering drawings to gain a thorough working knowledge of the overall design intent of a building or structure. Fabrication
Steel Fabrication is the process involving the transformation of raw steel into a product or item that can be used in construction or assembly.
The basic methods of fabricating include cutting or burning, forming, machining, or welding.
The 3 main processes of PEB members Fabrication:
- Machining: This process involves using a specialized piece of equipment to shave away parts of the metal to make it into the shape that is needed. Some of the tools that are involved include lathes, mills and drills.
- Cutting: We provide and utilize our very own in-house plasma cutting facility this ensures cutting with a high level of precision, no distortion and supreme quality for all our Pre-fabricated products.
- Welding: This is a common form of steel fabrication. Welding is used to bend or combine pieces to make them one piece. We use the right machines to help control the heat put into a part, minimize distortion, and improve the quality of the parts we produce. Our Quality Control Department staff of certified welding inspectors and technicians are trained in all forms of non-destructive weld testing.

What is Sandblasting of steel structure?
Sandblasting is a proven pre-finishing technique that’s been around for over a hundred years. The main use of sandblasting is removing and decontamination rust, loose mill scale, dirt, oil or grease and other foreign substances of bridges built up sections or any type of steel structure or PEB members. Osmacom Workers give Special attention to cleaning of corners and re-entrant angles. sandblasting is still the most common and preferred abrasive treatment method for final finishes.
What is Paint and How is structural steel paint done?
Paint is the most commonly used material to protect steel. The protective paint systems usually consist of primer, undercoat(s) and finish coats. Each coating ‘layer’ in any protective system has a specific function, and the different types are applied in a particular sequence of primer followed by intermediate / build coats in the shop, and finally the finish or top coat either in the shop or on site.
Osmacom always verify that paint materials are in compliance with the specification and this includes checking packaging and labeling; verifying the condition of paint in the container; and taking samples for testing. One of the most important inspection tasks we perform during a painting project is measuring the thickness of the paint coat to always make sure it’s the right thickness.

Erection
Steel structures Erection is a lengthy process that requires immense skills, knowledge, and practice. Our steel Erectors at Osmacom use the best steel tools and equipment to ensure that erection processes of steel structures & PEB are done with accuracy and perfection.
There are four General Steps to consider while planning a steel structure erection:
– It is extremely important to establish the foundations and confirm if they are suitable and safe for an erection to initiate. The most common type of foundation for steel framed buildings are pad foundations. With these, a concrete foundation is sited under each steel column. Bolts are then positioned in the wet concrete to anchor the building.
– With the help of cranes or sometimes by jacking, lifting and placing components into position is essential. Additionally, to secure the components in place, bolted connections are made but they may not be fully tightened. Similarly, bracings may not be fully secured.
Most of the Site connections should generally be bolted, as it is faster, less susceptible to poor weather conditions, and has less onerous access and inspection requirements than site welding.
– Aligning the structure is essential, principally by checking that column bases are lined and leveled and columns are plumb. To allow column plumb to be adjusted, packing in beam-to-column connections may need to be changed.
– Finally, bolting-up is required, which means completing all the bolted connections to secure and impart rigidity.
